LID just another term in the adoption process. With our last two adoptions we got LID before we were matched with a child. LID means-Log In Date. This is the date our dossier was logged in China. Our date is October 25, 2014. With Joel we were matched before LID. Once we had LID my adoption agency said the LOA wait time was 30-90 days. LOA is Letter of Approval stating that China will allow us to adopt Joel. I called my agency and said this will not work and reminded them we needed to expedite his file. She told me she would get on it asap. I then prayed and again put this in the Lords hands. This is his adoption and it is on his time frame. I will do everything possible to get it done as quickly as possible but in the end I have accepted that it is up to Him. We are so blessed to watch all the miracles take place allowing us to bring home our little boy.
So here is the honest lowdown with money. We got our next bill from our adoption agency for $5860.00
This covers:
Home study review fee $300
Domestic and International Couriers $600
CCAA fee-waiting child $500
Dossier translation fee $260
Agency Fee $5,700
Discount for matching with a waiting child -$1000
Discount for matching with a special focus child -$1000
Charitable Aid and development fund $500
Matching with a waiting child means that we chose Joel from a list of children that weren't able to be matched because families did not agree to his special needs.
Special focus means that we chose a child with a more severe special need or multiple special needs.
Grand Total $9965.05
