Kian Walks!!

We brought Kian home from China on January 22, 2011.  When we got him on January 10, 2011 he could not roll over.  He could sit but if he fell he could not get himself up.  Five days into our China trip Kian learned to roll over and that is how it has been ever since for this little guy.  He picks up everything very quickly.  On February 18th Kian could get himself into the sitting position by himself.  And Kian continues to develop very quickly...

 

February 24th Kian walks for the first time.

Jeff and McKade were so eager for Kian to walk.  Not me, I wanted him to stay my little baby as long as possible.  As you can see I lost that wish.  Kian walks after being with us just over two months.The problem with the walking is Kian missed a very important step in life.  CRAWLING-I didn't think it was that big of a deal but because he couldnt crawl if he fell he could not get himself back up.  Also when he fell he would not use his hands to block his falls and would land flat on his face.  Early Intervention gave us a few pointers to get Kian walking but the real truth is McKade taught him.  McKade would get on his hands and knees and crawl around and work with Kian until he could crawl. It took much longer than we thought but in the mean time...

 

On March 9th Kian is able to get up by himself after he falls.  Since Kian can get to standing by himself he has become much more independent and does not need to be held so much, his whining has gone down so much now.  At the end of April Kian finally learned how to crawl.  Yay Kian is ALL CAUGHT UP with so many things but he still has some progress to make, mostly with speech at this point.

He is growing and learning so fast, he is such a joy to have in our home.
