Day 3 with Kian

Kian had a rough night but slept in until 9:30am.  He woke up happy but we decided to spend the morning chilling and giving him time to heal and get used to us a little bit more.

He is all smiles today!!

Below is a picture of the difference in Kians skin coloring.  His little hands are so dark and his arms are so white.  The Chinese are not dark people so many would ask where Kian came from because he is so dark.  It was learned that Kian was placed in a walker and put outside in the cold.  So he got very tan or sunburned like his cheeks.  That is also why his little toes were so damaged.  He spent so much time in his walker in the cold kicking on the cement ground.

Kian not sure if he likes his new hair do?? We spent the day with his socks off trying to air out his toes in hopes they would heal quicker.

This is a face we will see tons over the next few weeks and months.  The funny thing is this face also looks like this when he is smiling and laughing at the same time but this picture is a fit!!

In the below picture you can better see his hairdo with his shaved sides. The sides of his hair felt rough like a beard growing in. And also how skinny he looks!

Oh my cute boy!!

When we saw the last picture we were given I thought Kian would be very big.  When we got him and he was so tiny and light I was shocked!!  I was expecting a big boy from judging his picture!!

When the Fosters got back from the orphanage we went to the park down the street.

Kian loves the outside and was happy every time we went out.

This was not a park like in America, no toys to play on.  There was fishing areas, rollerskating, little paths, etc.

There were also little boats in the park, this park was huge but you would have never guessed it from the street.

This part of China was very gloomy.  No vegetation, lots of pollution and very little sunshine.  But it did have Wal-Mart within walking distance and KFC!!
