Day 8 with Kian

Today, January 16, 2011 we were told we were going to the Pearl Factory.  In my head we were going to see where they make pearl jewelry, etc.  We were taken to this busy square with TONS of shopping and TONS of people and then to a jewelry shop.  These tour guides must make money when you shop in certain stores because they take you only to certain places and tell you not to shop other stores.  Anyway a huge let down and waste of time.  The square was great but Pearl Factory, SUCKED!! 

We were told to hold tight to our valuables because there were lots of pick pockets here but we were fine and felt totally safe.  This place really reminds me of time square.

 They did have a McDonald's at this square.  So Kian had McDonald's for the first time.  He didn't like the fries or nuggets unless dipped in sweet and sour but liked the hamburger and side of corn.  Yes you can get corn instead of fries, CRAZY!!

Below is a MIRACLE!!  On the walk back to the island Kian actually fell asleep in his stroller.

Since he was sleeping we spent some time getting the rest of our gifts for family and friends.

 This is Jordan and he owns this store.  He spoke very good English and said he was Christian after he heard Joshua's name, he recognized it from the Bible.  Jordan will write you child's name in Chinese for free, he even did McKades. Then he write what their names mean.  He was very nice and very eager to pose for the camera.

We went on a river cruise.  Scenery great, food HORRIBLE!!!

 We will go under 7 bridges on this cruise.  I am sad I do not have pictures of the bridges, they were amazing. We will hear Chinese people eat with their mouths open, not Rude or Gross in CHINA!!  We will see a mad dash to the buffet line like nothing ever before witnessed.  Also they will see me change Kians poopy diaper next to my dinner table because there was no where else to do it.  AWESOME!!!

The Asian games were held in Guangzhou prior to our arrival and each night they had a parade of countries down the river with these boats all lit up!!

Not really cold but you feared for your life so you bundled the kids up!!

Kian found something else to eat, the strap to his hat.  Now we may get a break from feeding him every few minutes.

He is so cute and so much fun. Today he actually rolled over for the first time.  I cant believe how fast he is catching on and learning things.
